A French toast is what you make for those glorious Sunday mornings, as a little treat you give yourself for a long week. What most people don’t know is that you can absolutely make them healthy — all you need are the right ingredients. Here’s how you can make them the WARKITCHEN way 🥂
Ingredients (per person):
1 Egg
150ml (1/2 cup) fresh milk or cream
Dash of cinnamon
Nutmeg, freshly grated
Bread of choice, 1" slices
2-3 tbsp raw honey
Few knobs of butter
Sunny-Side Eggs
2 Eggs
Fresh parsley
Salt
Equipment:
Stainless steel / cast iron pan
Bowl or tray for “batter”
Method:
1. French Toast Batter Preparation
Combine milk, 1 egg, cinnamon and nutmeg in a bowl or wide tray and incorporate well
2. Cook Eggs
Get the pan on medium heat and coat well with butter.
Add 2 eggs to the pan when the butter starts to sizzle
Cook thoroughly for 2-3 minutes, cover with a lid if white is under cooked
3. Cook French Toast
Submerge toast in batter fully for 15 seconds each side
Wipe pan clean and get it on medium heat again, coated well with butter
Drop toast in pan and do a good sear, about 2 minutes each side
Once ready, drizzle raw honey or maple syrup and serve.
Tear parsley and garnish, with sea salt.
Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Does the type of bread I use matter?
Yes. Use a thick brioche if you want to stay true to recipe, or do what I do and use sprouted grain or french sourdough which is healthier.
2. Can I add vanilla?
You can, just don’t overdo it. You could gently heat the milk with a vanilla pod and let that cool before making batter
3. Do I do the eggs or toast first?
While both iterations work, I prefer cooking the eggs first. They’re sunny side so you don’t need the heat to be that high, but you want the pan ready and hot for a good crust
Variations:
Maple syrup instead of honey
A scoop of yogurt on toast.
Add cacao powder to egg mixture and serve with strawberries

What’s the best cooking pan material?
If I had to choose ONE pan? It would be a multi-ply stainless steel. Just the best daily beater there is.
Stop baking in aluminum
The human body is not designed to detox large amounts of aluminum. Consume too much and you’ll be increasing your chances of contracting neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s & Parkinson’s.

A Liberty-approved way to create a more formal outdoor dinner is matching your cushions to your tablecloth and napkins, which brands like Coco & Wolf do really well. Having textiles everywhere feels really sumptuous. Rich, matching fabrics will certainly bring a formal feel to your dinner setup. The fabric will be the star of your table, so plan the dishes, candles and glassware around it, picking up on one or two colours to tie everything together.
The campaign is a celebration of human potential and the transformative power of craft. The layered court features a hand-knotted net, a testament to the artisans' exceptional weaving skills. The neon yarn balls, a playful touch, add a pop of colour to the scene. Even the borders of the artisans' saris are not merely decorative; they're dyed a distinctive Jaipur pink - a subtle nod to their heritage.
❋ BLACK CHERRY-PISTACHIO SALAD RECIPE
The experience of biting into a juicy black cherry embodies summer. For cherry recipes, dessert may come to mind first, but how about something savory? Bursting bites of cherry star in this five-ingredient salad, with scallions, pistachios, oil and vinegar.
During the Middle Ages, monks in France typically created kitchen gardens with geometrically shaped beds separated by paths and enclosed within a wall or hedge. Our French-style kitchen garden plan reflects this aesthetic with a central diamond-shaped bed and four larger raised beds, with wide brick pathways running between them

Since I can remember, French toast has been a special breakfast treat for me. Make sure that bread is well-soaked in the batter! Nothing more disappointing than a slice of FT that is just bread with a little crust of egg.
