#164 The Makings of a Great Breakfast
What are you having?
Breakfast is the best meal of the day. Eating a nourishing meal first thing in the morning is a great way to kickstart your metabolism and begin the day right.
There’s optimism in the air. Sourdough’s warming in the oven. French butter is soft, ready to be spread. You’ve got some smoked sockeye salmon. The smell of citrus is in the air. Breakfast is a blessing.

Born just in time to experience beautiful tiramisu
How about treating yourself to deliciously flaky Almond Croissants? Better yet, made with leftover Sourdough Croissants! What better way to use up sad-looking leftover pastries than filling them with a nutty almond filling and baking them again with crunchy flaked almonds on top?
Coffee gelato (Gelato al caffè) is one of the most popular and classic timeless flavors of Italian gelato. Espresso has a deeply rooted tradition in Italian culture. Drinking an espresso after a meal is almost a ritual for many Italians.
There are also many traditional Italian desserts made with coffee. For example, the famous Tiramisu, Italian Coffee Cream (Crema al caffè) and the simple but delicious Affogato, just to name a few.
❋ PERFECT HOMEMADE CIABATTA BREAD RECIPE
Imagine pulling a loaf of warm, crusty ciabatta bread out of your oven—the golden crust crackling as you slice it open, revealing a tender, airy crumb that’s just begging to be slathered with butter or dipped into olive oil. The aroma alone is enough to transport you straight to a cozy little Italian bakery. Honestly, the first time I made this ciabatta bread, I couldn’t believe how easy it was to achieve bakery-quality results right in my own kitchen. That first bite was a total revelation—the kind of moment where you pause, close your eyes, and let the flavors take over.
