#168 Reading is Back, Nature's Multivitamins, Winter Arc
Channeling fire horse energy
Dear Ladies & Gents, I hope your week has been beautiful. Phenomenal. Electric, even. It’s now officially the year of the horse and to some, this is where the New Year really begins. Winter is slowly fading. The Sun is starting to say hello. The road to a glorious Summer is almost upon us.
Before getting into our highlights for the week and all the beautiful links & recipes we’ve curated for you, I’d like to leave you with this:
Never forget that every limitation in your life is almost always imaginary. It might even be self-imposed.
The weekends are for you to relax, yes. But it’s also wise to reflect. Perhaps while you’re tastefully caffeinated after a perfect mid-afternoon affogato.
Ask yourself… Can you get what you want in a year instead of five? A month instead of a quarter? How close are you? What do you actually need to do to get where you want? Give yourself the freedom of delusion. Take that leap. You’re only delusional until it happens.

Thinking about real butter
Thinking about soft butter… Forget butter knives. It’s the season for beautiful wooden butter curlers.
Reading is back
Caffeinated. In my lane. The lion doesn't concern himself with the expectations of others. You need to be living in the moment. Unbothered. Book in hand. Beautiful music. How blessed are we to live life. Print is so back.
The best multivitamins
Nature is the best multivitamin. Liver for B12. Red meat for iron. Oysters for zinc, copper, selenium. Sardines for calcium. Salmon for omega 3s. Eggs for choline. Bone broth for your gut. Antioxidants in berries. Raw honey for power. Why would you ever take a generic multivitamin (that’s usually packed with fillers and suboptimal formulations) when we’re blessed with a world of nourishment?

❋ My Wind Down Routine by Ella Henry
“The feeling of being absolutely exhausted yet completely restless when you get into bed is unfortunately a feeling much too familiar to me. My brain doesn’t know the difference between having an anxious thought and being chased by a lion. So tired yet tossing and turning, heart palpitating, mind racing, I have been there many times.
I’ve dealt with insomnia issues from a young age. I don’t know if it’s the oldest child in me or just being a woman or what but the chronic anxiety and fight-or-flight state is deeply rooted in me. I have always been incredibly envious of the people who can fall asleep anywhere and everywhere.” — Ella Henry
❋ Homemade Honey Buns by Kiley Heard
“I just want to sit inside those warm and gooey swirls 😌 I can’t think of any better way to do friday or episode 8 of ‘back to the classics’ than with these homemade honey buns — I’m truly sooo so so in love 🫶 They’re soft, pillowy, and tender in the middle with a beautifully golden exterior, and then you get the swirl of warm honey butter and cinnamon brown sugar filling that melts into the dough 🍯 They’re finished with a silky honey glaze and of course, served warm with a hot cup of coffee…it’s all i want with a hot cup coffee on a slow saturday morning ☕️" — Kiley Heard

❋ Prometabolic things I find incredibly chic by Valerie Ribon
“A basket of eggs from your chickens on the counter. The colors are gorgeous, it makes my entire kitchen. Fresh eggs have 50% more nutrients than store bought ones, since store bought ones tend to be at least 2 months old. Not to mention, home grown chickens are fed and cared for much better, which makes the eggs a literal multivitamin. Bonus? Unwashed eggs do not need to be refrigerated- making an egg basket the perfect kitchen centerpiece. I have a whole post on how i make my chickens food from scratch, here.” — Valerie Ribon
❋ Brown Butter Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies by Karianna Alexa
“All cookies should be made with brown butter; yes or yes?
I typically go for chocolate chunks over chocolate chips these days, but something about the chips for these just seemed right. They hearken back to the banana muffins my mom used to make that I would refuse to eat unless they had copious amounts of chocolate chips and were completely saturated in butter.” — Karianna Alexa
