It’s a weekend of deep leisure. April is a great time of year to shift gears. Work hard. Pour your soul into the everything you’re doing. And then, completely disconnect. Go for a game of tennis. Swim. Hike. Your mind needs periods of complete leisure for you to perform at your best. For your light to be bright, you have to switch it off every now and then. Have a glorious SUNDAY!
Natural dyes for Easter eggs
Before artificial dyes, Easter eggs were colored with what we had around us. Nettle for a mossy green. Coffee for various shades of brown. Onion skins. Chamomile. Pomegranate juice. If you're making Easter eggs this weekend, Red 40 & Yellow 5 are easy options but consider using natural dyes!
Artificial dyes are made from petroleum. And egg shells are porous. So this means these artificial dyes seep through the shell and into the egg white underneath. If you've ever peeled an Easter egg and noticed the white has turned pink or blue you've seen this firsthand.
Artificial dyes have been linked with behavioral effects in children including mood swings, hyperactivity, and ADHD. Our children deserve better.

Your cravings are a cry for nourishment
Sometimes, your cravings are a sign you need NOURISHMENT. If you're alway craving chocolate, you might need more magnesium. If you're always craving salty foods, you might need more sodium.

“One of the most requested recipes has been a pistachio gelato! This has a great pistachio flavour with a natural colour and smooth texture.
Pistachio paste is an expensive ingredient, so you can make it yourself, but you’ll need a high-powered food processor and some really good quality bright green pistachios, like Sicilian ones!
A high end gelato/ice cream machine is really important here too, as the built-in chiller will maintain a constant cold temperature to ensure small ice crystal formation while the mixture churns. I use the Musso Lussino 4080.”

“While the discovery of large deposits of kaolin in the region led to the production of German porcelain for the wider population in the 1800s, the earlier pieces still hold value and even rare pieces by more recent producers such as Hummel figurines produced by Goebel can command thousands of dollars.
In more recent history the addition of the ‘Made in Germany’ porcelain mark helps us with the identification of work produced by these German porcelain markers. Introduced by the British government in 1887 to reduce imports into the country, it in fact added value to much of the German work as it became known as a mark for quality porcelain. This rich history behind the wealth of antique German porcelain has carried through to the present day and adds depth to the value of these distinguished pieces.”
